Michael W. Branco a born Bermudian has been in the IT industry for 15+ years with expertise in software development, server virtualization, IT security and disaster recovery planning. He obtained his undergraduate degree in Computer Science at the University of Western Ontario, pursued graduate studies in Computer Science at Stanford University and earned his MBA from Richard Ivey Business School.

After university, Michael returned to Bermuda where he initially worked for Butterfield Bank in Electronic Security and then he moved to Ernst & Young as a software developer. He then embarked on his path into technology start-up companies including payment processing company Promisant and IT security company QuoVadis. He founded Fireminds Ltd., which was acquired by Ignition in 2010.
